How and when to apply?

There is one intake per year and the studies start the following August. The next application round for our programmes is 3-17 January 2025.

Read carefully the general instructions and the programme specific admission requirements carefully. At the application stage we require only scanned enclosures attached to the application form. Please note also that you will be required to present your original degree certificate and transcript according to the country specific requirements upon arrival in Finland.

Collect the required documents. Information concerning the documents is available on the programme specific admission application requirements and in your online application form.

The University of Turku requires you to submit all application documents in electronic format.

“My favorite thing about studying at UTU is the inspiration I get from the teachers’ love and appreciation for the courses they teach and for us as their students. This is one of my major motivating forces at the moment. It’s also uplifting to feel like you, your time, and your thoughts are valued and respected.”

The University offers a generous scholarship programme for students who are subject to the tuition fees. The scholarships are awarded to students in the Master’s and Bachelor’s Programmes in the following categories:

  • 2-year scholarship that covers the entire tuition fee for 2 academic years.
  • 2-year scholarship that covers 50 % of the tuition fee for 2 academic years.
  • 1-year scholarship for outstanding performance during the 1st study year. The scholarship covers the 2nd year tuition fee.

A scholarship will be granted to up to 30 % of the admitted students who are subject to tuition fees and have applied for a scholarship. You can apply for the UTU scholarship at the same time as applying for admission to one of our Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes if you are subject to tuition fees. Applying is simple: just indicate “yes” in the appropriate questions on your application form for the programme.
